Hello,

This is a blog that I created last year. It's time to dust it off and start using it!

Please follow the link to two music blogging lessons that Jessica, Jeff and I have taught together in our new computer lab. The lessons are imbedded on the LM school website. Click on Music Program in the left-side column and then on Music 6 Lessons. I created Lesson 1 using Edublogs and Lesson 2 using Blogger. I would like to start some dialogue here about this experience to see if this learning tool could help Jeff and Jessica.

The question is:

Could blogging be useful to Jessica and Jeff in their 6th grade classrooms?

We have discussed this a little f2f. I'd like to pose that question here and get a discussion going between us and Becky Firth (OSPI Technology Coordinator) and Kathy Dorr (NWESD E2T2 Coordinator).

There are challenges to blogging for educational purposes, but we also have some great support in our district and school this year. Martha Thornburgh, our new technology mentor here in Mount Vernon gave me some great ideas as I started this project (she even taught one class with me), our librarian is willing to let students blog in the library and our principal is very supportive. Jessica has worked very hard to have a mini-lab in her classroom so that also supports blogging in terms of accessibility for her class.

What do you think?
